Greenfield Village
One of the least known parts of Henry Ford’s legacy is the Greenfield Village located next to the Henry Ford Museum. www.theHenryFord.org Their mission is to provide unique educational experiences based on authentic objects, stories and traditions. They have a summer Historic Baseball league team that plays baseball with 1865 rules and equipment, no glove but softer baseball!
They have many original houses and buildings from the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. Henry Ford’s house where he was born, and his original school house are there, and many model T’s that will drive you around, Edison’s light bulb lab, the Wright Brothers Bicycle Shop, many old time places to eat and drink and of course ice cream. There are working farms and Henry Ford’s original workshop and many Artisans practicing original methods of producing goods and products. A lot of fun.
